HPI Savage 5T - Skid Plate

Here is the original skid plate that I made back in February. I thought I wanted to keep the bottom of the chassis sealed so debris will not get inside of the car. But instead everything is getting trapped. Now I opened up some hole on the bottom of the skid plate so debris will fall through.

I am curious to see how much weight I will take off by opening up some holes in the skid plate. Here I placed the skid plate on a scale, and it weighs 9.9 oz. I also drew some guide lines to show where I will cut.

First I drilled some holes on each of the 4 corners where I plan to cut.

Then I used a jig saw and cut out any excess aluminum to reduce down the milling time.
