Tarot FY680 HexaCopter - FPV Monitor Upgraded Mount

To make my version 3 FPV setup even more portable I decided to mount the LCD monitor to my Radio. The cheapest thing I found is a Carbon Fiber FPV Monitor Mount on ebay that cost $6.88 shipped from China (It only took 6 days to get to me in California).

I am not sure if all the Carbon Fiber FPV Monitor Mount are the same or if I got a defective set but the aluminum clamps was drilled incorrectly. The holes did not match up to the brace. I ended up making my own clamps and added a brace that supports the monitor from the back and not use only the 1/4 hole on the bottom of the monitor.

Below is a picture of what is included with my purchase.

The round clamp is the one I made and if you look in the pictures above you will see the original rectangular clamps that only has 2 holes.

The picture below is the aluminum brace that I made to support the whole screen from the back and not just the bottom. If the metal plate on the bottom was stronger, it would not be a problem but in my case it looks like it is made out of thin sheet of cheap metal that seems to be bending already. Now the monitor slides on and held in place with the screw on the bottom. So it make it quick and easy to remove the monitor.

I also added another sheet of plastic between the carbon fiber plate and brace to make it stiffer.

The carbon fiber mounting kit came with a thumb screw for the bottom of the LCD monitor but it was made out of cheap aluminum. So I made my own with 7075 aluminum instead.

Without the DJI iOSD you will not see any of the writting that is in white.
