After driving my 2000 F150 for eight years and over 160,000 miles, it is finally time to sell it and buy something newer.  I thought about getting another F150, but after driving my friends Nissan Titan I was hooked on the power the 5.6L engine had. So I went and looked around for a used Titan with relatively low mileage, 4x4, and Crew Cab. I did not want to bother with bargaining with salesmen so I went straight to Carmax. And when I did my search it came up with 6 trucks nationwide through Carmax. I was able narrowed it down to four trucks…

And the story continues…

After doing some reach I noticed that only two of the truck had the factory spray bed liner, Utili-track Tie Down, and Lockbox. I thought all those options where standard, but it is not a deal breakers not having them. However, the combination of other factor like transfer fee of $899 to ship the truck form Oak Lawn,IL. Or steel wheels and base model bumpers ( not chrome or color keyed) plus not having the options I wanted will defiantly move them to the bottom of the list.

So now I am down to 2 trucks, and it was pretty easy to decide because one truck is 2006 with 30K miles and the other 2004 with 43K miles. The clear choice is the 2006, not just because of the lower mileage and newer year. But 2004 was the first year the Titan came out, and like all first models car, they have problems. To name the some of the problems are, over heating differentials, and warping brake rotors. The one thing that I liked about the 2004 Titan was the color of the truck, but oh well.

Its hard to tell from this picture but the F150 is a little taller than the Titan. But the tires are the same height, 33 inch.
