Kumho Road Venture MT KL71

I finally broke down and bought a brand new set of tires that I always wanted, the Kumho Road Venture MT KL71. The tires are actually the same diameter as the stock, 33 x 12.5 x 20. The only difference is width; the Kumho's are about 2 inch wider.

I went to my favorite tire shop America's Tire to get the wheels mounted and balance because I know they will get the job done right the first time. Unfortunately this process is not the typical mount and dismount process, it was a bit more complicated.

The stock wheels have Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor (TPMS), and I wanted to move them to the 20 inch wheels. I need to more the TPMS to the new wheels or else the tire pressure warning light will come on because the sensors are missing. In order to do this they charged me a dismounting fee to take the TPMS from the stock wheel and replacing the TPMS with regular valve stems so the stock wheels are still useable. Then they charged me another fee to dismount the old tires from the 20 inch wheels and another fee to mount the new tires on. And finally another fee to balance the wheels.

Here is a picture of the Kumho Road Venture MT KL71, that is how it was shipped from tirerack.com.
